Herington

Herington is located in Dickinson County in the heart of Kansas central to many of the state's tourist destinations.
The rich local heritage is showcased at the Tri-County Historic al Society Museum in Herington's Fairgrounds Park as well as a railroad Museum located in a historic baggage car. The historical Carnegie Library, built in1918, remains in use today. Fairgrounds Park at the community's south end, has a miniature train for children to ride and the Father Padilla Padilla Memorial Park has shaded picnic facilities, playground, gazebo and a WPA-built swimming pool.
The downtown district offer unique gift shops and antique stores. Enjoy a cherry coke at the classic soda fountain in Boellings Drugstore. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy fishing, boating, camping and excellent picnic facilities at Lake Herington and the Herington Reservoir.
